Jour 1 : Day 1: The Holy Mother of God
Méditation
We begin our novena by contemplating the very foundation of Mary’s greatness: her divine Maternity and her perfect holiness. As the Sancta Dei Genitrix, the Holy Mother of God, she was chosen from all eternity for this singular role. This divine motherhood is the source of all her other graces. She is the Mother of Christ, Head of the Mystical Body, and therefore Mother of the Church. Through her, divine grace flows to humanity. Let us ask for the grace to imitate her purity and her unwavering ‘yes’ to the will of the Father.

Jour 2 : Day 2: The Most Prudent Virgin
Méditation
Today, we honor Mary’s perpetual virginity, a dogma of our faith and a sign of her total consecration to God. She is the Virgo prudentissima, the most prudent Virgin, whose every action was guided by divine wisdom. She is venerable, worthy of all praise, powerful in her intercession, clement in her mercy, and faithful to every promise of God. Her virginity is not merely physical but a state of her soul, perfectly open to God and closed to sin. May we learn from her to guard our hearts and minds for Christ alone.

Jour 3 : Day 3: Mirror of Justice
Méditation
Mary is the Speculum justitiae, the Mirror of Justice, not because she is the source of justice, but because she reflects the justice and holiness of God with perfect clarity. In her, we see the ideal of humanity as God intended it. She is the Sedes sapientiae, the Seat of Wisdom, for she bore in her womb the Incarnate Wisdom, Jesus Christ. As the cause of our joy, she brought the Savior into the world. She is the spiritual vessel, the vessel of honor, the singular vessel of devotion, holding within herself the fullness of grace. Let us ask her to form us into vessels worthy of her Son.

Jour 4 : Day 4: The Mystical Rose
Méditation
The Litany now employs beautiful Old Testament figures to describe Our Lady’s role in salvation history. She is the Rosa mystica, the Mystical Rose, perfect in beauty and virtue. She is the Turris Davidica, the Tower of David, a fortress of strength for the Church against its enemies. She is the Domus aurea, the House of Gold, a dwelling place made pure and precious for the King of Kings. As the Foederis arca, the Ark of the Covenant, she carried not the stone tablets of the Law, but the Lawgiver Himself. She is the Gate of Heaven, through whom the Savior entered the world and through whom we hope to enter paradise.

We turn to Mary as our powerful intercessor and advocate. She is the Salus infirmorum, Health of the Sick, obtaining healing for both body and soul. For those burdened by sin, she is the Refugium peccatorum, the unfailing Refuge of Sinners, who leads us to the mercy of her Son. For the sorrowful, she is the Consolatrix afflictorum, Comforter of the Afflicted, who understands our pain as no other creature can. And for the entire Church Militant, she is the Auxilium Christianorum, the Help of Christians, our champion in the spiritual battle. Let us fly to her protection with absolute confidence.

She is Regina Angelorum, Queen of Angels, exalted above all the choirs of heaven. She is Regina Patriarcharum, Queen of Patriarchs, who fulfilled the promises made to Abraham and the fathers of our faith. She is Regina Prophetarum, Queen of Prophets, for she is the subject of their prophecies and bore the one of whom they spoke. She is Regina Apostolorum, Queen of Apostles, who presided over the nascent Church in prayer and received the Holy Spirit with them at Pentecost.

She is Regina Confessorum, Queen of Confessors, the model for all who bear witness to Christ through a life of heroic virtue. She is Regina Virginum, Queen of Virgins, the exemplar for all souls consecrated to God. Jour 8 : Day 8: Queen Conceived Without Sin and Assumed into Heaven
Méditation
Today we meditate upon the great Marian dogmas proclaimed by the Church. We hail her as Regina sine labe originali concepta, Queen conceived without original sin. This privilege of the Immaculate Conception prepared her to be a worthy dwelling for the Son of God. We acclaim her as Regina in caelum assumpta, Queen assumed into heaven. It was fitting that her body, which had given flesh to God, should not see corruption but be united with her soul in heavenly glory. She is also Regina sacratissimi Rosarii, Queen of the most Holy Rosary, a title earned by her powerful intercession at the Battle of Lepanto and a reminder of the spiritual weapon she has given us.

As Regina familiae, Queen of the Family, she is the model and protector of the domestic church, the pattern of maternal love and spousal fidelity. Finally, we cry out to her as Regina pacis, Queen of Peace. In a world torn by strife, she brings us the only true peace, her Son, the Prince of Peace. Let us consecrate our hearts, our families, and the entire world to her, asking her to establish the reign of her Son’s peace in all hearts and in all nations.
