Prayers for Family Reconciliation
These prayers may be said to implore God’s grace for the healing of division and the restoration of peace within a family.
Prayer to the Holy Family
O most loving Jesus, who by Thy sublime virtues and the example of Thy domestic life, didst consecrate the family which Thou didst choose on earth; in Thy clemency look down upon our family, humbly prostrate before Thee and imploring Thy mercy. Remember that this family belongs to Thee; for to Thee we have in a special way dedicated and devoted ourselves. Look upon us in Thy loving kindness; preserve us from all danger; give us help in the time of need, and grant us the grace to persevere to the end in the imitation of Thy Holy Family; that having revered Thee and loved Thee faithfully on earth, we may bless and praise Thee eternally in heaven.
O Mary, most sweet Mother, to thy intercession we have recourse, knowing that thy Divine Son will hear thy prayers.
O glorious Patriarch, St. Joseph, assist us by thy powerful mediation, and offer, by the hands of Mary, our prayers to Jesus.

Prayer for the Healing of Family Wounds
O Merciful Father, who knowest the sorrows that afflict our family, we fly to Thy protection and implore Thy aid. By the Precious Blood of Thy Son, Jesus Christ, we beseech Thee to wash away the stains of our sins, which are the cause of our divisions. Soften our hearts, that we may forgive one another the trespasses we have committed. Take from us all spirit of pride, anger, and resentment.
Grant us, O Lord, the grace of humility, patience, and mutual charity. Heal the wounds of our hearts and our memories. Let Thy peace, which surpasseth all understanding, reign in our home. May the bonds of love, which have been broken or strained, be mended and strengthened by the fire of Thy Divine Love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, for ever and ever.

Contexte Historique
The family, in Catholic teaching, is considered the ‘domestic church,’ the first and most fundamental community of faith. Prayers for family reconciliation are deeply rooted in this understanding. While no single, ancient prayer is prescribed, the faithful have always turned to God to heal the inevitable frictions and divisions that can arise in family life. These devotions draw their inspiration from the ultimate model of the Holy Family of Nazareth—Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. By invoking them, Catholics seek the grace to imitate their virtues of love, patience, forgiveness, and obedience to God’s will, thereby restoring the harmony and peace that God intends for every home.
