O Almighty God, who hast given unto me my father and my mother, and made them to be an image of Thy authority and love, grant, I beseech Thee, that I may ever honour them and be obedient to their just commands. Vouchsafe to bless them for their constant care of me, reward their labours, and grant that, after serving Thee faithfully in this life, we may all be united in Thy heavenly kingdom to praise Thee for ever and ever. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Parent’s Prayer for Children
O Heavenly Father, who didst entrust Thine only-begotten Son to the care of Mary and Joseph, I commend my children unto Thine infinite mercy. Be Thou their guide and protector in all their ways. Defend them from the dangers of soul and body; keep them from the occasion of sin, and grant them the grace to know, to love, and to serve Thee faithfully. May they ever be a source of consolation to our family and a glory to Thy Holy Name. We ask this through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer to the Holy Family for all Families
O most loving Jesus, who by Thy sublime and hidden virtues at Nazareth didst sanctify the family which Thou hadst chosen for Thyself on earth, look down with mercy upon our family, which prostrates itself before Thee and implores Thy protection.
Remember that we are Thine, for to Thee we have dedicated and devoted ourselves. Protect us in Thy mercy, deliver us from all dangers, come to our aid in our necessities, and give us the grace to persevere to the end in the imitation of Thy Holy Family; so that, after having served and loved Thee faithfully on earth, we may be able to praise and bless Thee eternally in heaven.
O Mary, most sweet Mother, we implore thy protection, knowing that thy divine Son will hear thy prayers.
And thou, O glorious Patriarch, Saint Joseph, assist us by thy powerful mediation, and offer our vows to Jesus through the hands of Mary. Amen.
