Introductory Prayer
To be said each day.
O glorious Saint Anne, chosen by God to be the mother of His own Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, I, a miserable sinner, confiding in thy great goodness, choose thee this day to be my special advocate. I offer and consecrate my person and all my interests to thy care and protection. I entreat thee to receive me into the number of thy true servants, and to watch over me always, but especially at the hour of my death.
Obtain for me, from thy most pure Daughter, the grace to know, to weep for, and to correct my sins. Obtain for me a most ardent love for Jesus and Mary, a faithful and constant observance of the duties of my state of life, and the grace of final perseverance. Amen.
Jour 1 : Day 1: Saint Anne’s Faith

Let us consider the unwavering faith of Saint Anne. For many years, she and her spouse, Saint Joachim, bore the cross of barrenness, a great shame in their time. Yet, they never ceased to trust in God’s providence, praying with fervor and constancy. Their faith was not a fleeting sentiment, but a deep-seated conviction that God is faithful to His promises, even when His ways are mysterious. This heroic faith merited for them the greatest of all blessings: to become the parents of the Mother of God.

O Good Saint Anne, model of faith, who didst wait with unshaken trust for the fulfillment of God’s promise, obtain for me a like faith. In times of darkness and trial, when my prayers seem to go unanswered, teach me to persevere with confidence in the divine will. Strengthen my heart, that I may never doubt God’s love and mercy. Méditation
Let us meditate upon the patience of Saint Anne. She endured not only the sorrow of her own heart but also the scorn of her neighbors. Yet, she bore her trials without complaint, uniting her sufferings to the will of God. Her patience was not a passive resignation, but an active hope, a serene waiting upon the Lord. Through this long-suffering, her soul was purified and made ready to receive the immense grace that God had prepared for her.

Méditation
Let us contemplate the holy union of Saints Anne and Joachim. Their marriage was a testament to mutual love, respect, and shared piety. They were united not only in their desire for a child but, more profoundly, in their desire to serve God. Their home was a sanctuary of prayer and charity, a fitting place for the future Queen of Heaven to be conceived and nurtured. They are a perfect model for all Christian spouses.

Jour 4 : Day 4: Saint Anne, Mother of the Immaculate
Méditation
Consider the sublime privilege bestowed upon Saint Anne: to be the mother of her who was conceived without the stain of original sin. From the first moment of her existence in Saint Anne’s womb, Mary was full of grace, preserved by a singular privilege for the sake of her Divine Son. What must have been the sanctity of Saint Anne, to be chosen as the vessel to bear this immaculate treasure! Her womb was the first tabernacle of the purest of creatures.

O holy Saint Anne, who didst bear in thy womb the Immaculate Virgin Mary, obtain for me a great horror of sin and a fervent love for purity. As thou didst prepare a worthy dwelling for the Mother of God, help me to prepare my soul to be a worthy temple for the Holy Ghost. May I, through thy prayers, overcome all temptations against chastity. Amen.
Jour 5 : Day 5: The Joyful Birth of Mary
Méditation
Let us share in the immense joy of Saint Anne at the birth of her daughter, Mary. This birth was not like any other; it was the dawn of our redemption. Heaven and earth rejoiced, for the child destined to crush the serpent’s head had come into the world. Imagine the tender love with which Saint Anne gazed upon the infant Mary, recognizing in her the fulfillment of God’s promises and the hope of all mankind.

O joyful Saint Anne, whose sorrow was turned into gladness at the birth of the Blessed Virgin, I share in thy happiness. Obtain for me a share in that same joy which comes from a life lived in God’s grace. Grant that, like thee, I may find my greatest delight in Jesus and Mary, and that my life may bring joy to the Heart of God. Amen.
Jour 6 : Day 6: The Presentation of Mary
Méditation
Reflect on the sacrifice of Saint Anne when, in fulfillment of her vow, she presented the child Mary in the Temple. Though it cost her heart a great pang to part with her beloved daughter, she offered her back to God with generosity and love. She understood that Mary belonged first and foremost to God, and she willingly consecrated her to His service. This act of detachment is a profound lesson in true love, which seeks not its own good, but the good of the beloved and the glory of God.

O generous Saint Anne, who didst not hesitate to offer thy greatest treasure to God, teach me to be detached from the things of this world. Help me to offer to God my will, my desires, and all that I possess, holding nothing back from Him who has given me all. May I learn from thee to love God above all things. Amen.
Jour 7 : Day 7: Saint Anne, Teacher of the Virgin
Méditation
Let us consider Saint Anne as the first teacher of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Under her watchful care, Mary learned the Holy Scriptures, the prayers of her people, and the virtues that would adorn her soul. Saint Anne was the instrument chosen by God to form the mind and heart of the future Mother of the Redeemer. What a sublime and holy office! She is, therefore, a powerful patroness for all educators and mothers.

O wise Saint Anne, who didst so diligently instruct thy holy daughter Mary in the ways of God, I beseech thee to guide all parents and teachers. Obtain for them the wisdom, patience, and love necessary to form the next generation in faith and virtue. Watch over my own soul, and teach me the lessons of holiness that I may be a pleasing child of God. Amen.
Jour 8 : Day 8: Patroness of Christian Families
Méditation
Saint Anne is justly invoked as the special patroness of Christian families. Having presided over the holiest of households, which contained the Immaculate Virgin, she understands intimately the joys and sorrows of family life. She knows the trials of spouses, the anxieties of parents, and the needs of children. From her place in heaven, she watches over all who entrust their homes to her care, obtaining for them peace, unity, and all necessary graces.

O Good Saint Anne, protectress of the Christian family, I place my own family and all my loved ones under thy special care. Defend us from all dangers, both spiritual and temporal. Preserve peace and harmony in our home. Obtain for us the grace to live in the fear and love of God, to serve one another faithfully, and to be united one day in our eternal home. Amen.
Jour 9 : Day 9: Saint Anne’s Intercession in Heaven
Méditation
Let us raise our hearts to Heaven and consider the glory of Saint Anne. Having faithfully fulfilled her mission on earth, she now reigns with her Daughter and her Divine Grandson. Her power of intercession is immense, for what can Jesus and Mary refuse to her who is their mother and grandmother? Countless miracles and graces have been obtained through her prayers. Let us, therefore, approach her with great confidence, certain that she will hear and answer our petitions if they be for the glory of God and the good of our souls.

O most powerful Saint Anne, I rejoice in thy glory in Heaven. Now, at the end of this novena, I renew my confidence in thy intercession. I place my petitions once more in thy hands. Be a mother to me, and obtain for me from thy Grandson, Jesus, the forgiveness of my sins, the grace of final perseverance, and the particular favor I have asked in this novena. Grant that I may love and serve God faithfully on earth and praise Him with thee for all eternity. Amen.
