Why pray the exorcism of Saint Benedict?
The exorcism prayer of Saint Benedict is traditionally used by the faithful to seek special spiritual protection against evil influences and temptations. Saint Benedict, considered the patron saint of exorcists, is invoked to ward off evil, purify the mind, and strengthen faith in the face of spiritual trials.
This prayer, often associated with the famous phrase “Vade Retro Satana” (Get thee behind me, Satan), expresses the believer’s desire to renounce evil and place themselves under the protection of the Cross of Christ. It is particularly recommended in times of spiritual struggle, doubt, or when one feels the need to protect their home and soul from negative energies.
