Our Lady of Mount Carmel: Queen and Mother of the Order: Devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel has its roots on the holy mountain of Israel, where hermits placed themselves under the patronage of Mary as early as the 12th century. She is honored as the Queen, Mother, and Sister of the Order, inviting us to meditate on the Word of God in the intimacy of our hearts. The scapular, associated with this devotion, symbolizes her maternal protection and our desire to conform ourselves ever more closely to Christ by following her. Circumstances for Praying to Our Lady of Mount Carmel: It is particularly recommended to turn to Our Lady of Mount Carmel to ask for her daily protection and intercession during times of trial. She is often prayed to for the grace of perseverance in faith and a deeper interior life. It is also a powerful prayer for the dying, invoking the “Sabatine promise” of deliverance and eternal peace under its protective mantle. French Craftsmanship Quality.
