#1f64f; Why do a novena to Our Lady of Lourdes?
Doing a novena to Our Lady of Lourdes is an act of profound faith to entrust one’s intentions to the Virgin Mary, who appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. Recognized as the “refuge of sinners” and the “health of the sick,” she is particularly invoked to ask for graces of healing, both physical and spiritual, and to find inner peace during life’s trials.
Praying for nine consecutive days allows one to listen to God and to seek Mary’s maternal intercession. As she taught Bernadette, prayer and penance are paths to conversion of heart and Christian hope.
