O God, the eternal source of all wisdom and knowledge, Who didst grant to Solomon a wise and understanding heart to govern Thy people, I humbly beseech Thee to grant me a portion of that same heavenly wisdom. Guide my mind in all my undertakings, that I may perceive what is right and just. Strengthen my will to carry out my plans with diligence and fortitude. Illuminate the path of my business, that it may be a source of blessing not only for myself and my family, but also for my employees, my community, and for the greater glory of Thy Name.
Grant me prudence in my dealings, honesty in my transactions, and fairness to all with whom I labour. Preserve me from the temptations of avarice and unjust gain. Let my work be a testament to Thy goodness, and may the fruits of my enterprise serve to aid the poor and advance the works of Thy Church. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer for One’s Employees
O Lord Jesus Christ, Who didst work with Thine own hands in the workshop of Nazareth, look with favour upon all who labour in my employ. Grant them health of body and soul, and reward their diligence with a just and living wage. Instil in me a spirit of charity and justice, that I may ever respect their dignity as children of God and treat them with the fairness and kindness they deserve.
May our workplace be a place of mutual respect, cooperation, and peace. Protect them from all harm and accident, and bring them and their families safely home at the end of each day. May their work contribute to their own sanctification and to the well-being of all. Amen.
Prayer to Saint Homobonus, Patron of Business People
O glorious Saint Homobonus, who didst practice the trade of a merchant with perfect integrity and boundless charity, thou art a shining example of how worldly business can be a path to eternal life. Thou didst find Christ in thy customers and in the poor, serving them with honesty and generosity.
Intercede for me, I pray, that I may conduct my affairs with unwavering honesty and a spirit of service. Obtain for me the grace to resist all temptations to greed and deceit. Teach me to use the profits of my labour not for vanity, but for the glory of God and the relief of the needy. O Saint Homobonus, be my guide and protector in all my commercial endeavours, that my work on earth may merit for me a place in our heavenly home. Amen.

O glorious Saint Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labour, obtain for me the grace to work in a spirit of penance for the expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honour to employ and develop by means of labour the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, moderation, and patience, never shrinking from weariness and trials; to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, and of vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God.
All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch, Saint Joseph. Such shall be my watch-word in life and in death. Amen.
