How to Pray the Novena
Each day, begin with the Sign of the Cross and the Act of Contrition. Then, pray the first three decades of the Holy Rosary. After the Rosary decades, read the meditation for the day.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
Jour 1 : First Day: Entrusting the Knot of Disobedience
Méditation
Dearest Holy Mother, Most Holy Mary, thou who dost undo the knots that suffocate thy children, extend thy merciful hands to me. I entrust to thee today the knot of (mention your specific knot here), and all the negative consequences that it has provoked in my life. I give thee this knot that torments me, makes me unhappy, and prevents me from uniting myself to thee and to thy Son Jesus, my Saviour.
I run to thee, Mary, Undoer of Knots, for I trust in thee and I know that thou never despisest a sinful child who comes to ask for thy help. I believe that thou canst undo this knot because thou art my Mother. I know that thou wilt do this because thou lovest me with an eternal love. Amen.
Prière du jour
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
He who seeks grace, shall find it in Mary’s hands.
Jour 2 : Second Day: Entrusting the Knot of Unbelief
Méditation
Mary, beloved Mother, fount of all graces, my heart is turned to thee today. I recognize that I am a sinner and that I am in need of thy help. Because of my selfishness, my resentment, my lack of generosity and humility, I have often ignored the graces obtained through thee.
I turn to thee today, Mary, Undoer of Knots, that thou mayest ask for me, from thy Son Jesus, purity of heart, detachment, humility, and trust. I will live this day practicing these virtues. I will offer them to thee as a proof of my love for thee. I place this knot (mention it) in thy hands, which prevents me from showing the glory of God. Amen.
Prière du jour
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Mary offered to God every moment of her day.
Jour 3 : Third Day: Entrusting the Knot of Resentment
Méditation
Meditating Mother, Queen of Heaven, in whose hands are the riches of the King, turn thy merciful eyes upon me today. I entrust into thy holy hands this knot in my life (mention it), and all the rancour and resentment it hath caused in me. I ask Thy forgiveness, O God my Father, for my fault. Help me now to forgive all the persons who consciously or unconsciously provoked this knot.
Insofar as I am able, I forgive these persons and also myself, forever. Before thee, Mary, Undoer of Knots, and in the name of thy Son Jesus, my Saviour, who suffered so many offenses, having been granted forgiveness, I now forgive them. I know that thou wilt undo it. Thank thee, my dearest Mother, for undoing this knot in my heart. Amen.
Prière du jour
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
He who wants graces, let him turn to Mary.
Jour 4 : Fourth Day: Entrusting the Knot of Sadness and Despair
Méditation
Dearest Holy Mother, thou art generous with all who seek thee, have mercy on me. I entrust into thy hands this knot which robs the peace of my heart, paralyzes my soul and keeps me from going to my Lord and serving Him with my life. Undo this knot in my love (mention it), O Mother, and ask Jesus to heal my paralytic faith, which gets downhearted with the stones on the road.
Along with thee, O my Mother, may I see these stones as friends. Not grumbling any more, but giving thanks without ceasing, may I smile in trust in thy power. Amen.
Prière du jour
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Mary is the sun and the whole world benefits from her warmth.
Jour 5 : Fifth Day: Entrusting the Knot of Anger
Méditation
Mother, Undoer of Knots, generous and compassionate, I come to thee today to once again entrust this knot (mention it) in my life to thee and to ask the divine wisdom to undo, under the light of the Holy Spirit, this snarl of problems. No one has ever seen thee angry; to the contrary, thy words were so charged with sweetness that the Holy Spirit was manifested on thy lips.
Take away from me the bitterness, the anger, and the hatred which this knot has caused me. Give me, O dearest Mother, some of thy sweetness and thy wisdom, that I may learn to meditate on all things in the silence of my heart. And as thou didst at Pentecost, intercede with Jesus that I may receive in my life a new effusion of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prière du jour
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Mary is all-powerful with God.
Jour 6 : Sixth Day: Entrusting the Knot of Vice and Habitual Sin
Méditation
Queen of Mercy, I entrust to thee this knot in my life (mention it) and I ask thee to give me a heart that knows how to be patient while thou art undoing it. Teach me to persevere in the living word of Jesus, in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of Confession; stay with me and prepare my heart to celebrate with the angels the grace that will be granted to me.
Free me from the snares of the evil one, and keep me in thy protection. Let thy grace be upon me, and thy love be my constant companion. Amen.
Prière du jour
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Thou art my entire hope.
Jour 7 : Seventh Day: Entrusting the Knot of Fear and Anxiety
Méditation
Mother Most Pure, I come to thee today to beg thee to undo this knot in my life (mention it) and to free me from the snares of the Evil One. God has granted thee great power over all the demons. I renounce them today, I renounce every tie I have had with them and I proclaim that Jesus is my one and only Lord and Saviour.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, crush the head of the ancient serpent. Destroy the traps he has laid for me by this knot. Thank thee, dearest Mother. Most Precious Blood of Jesus, free me! Amen.

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Thou art the glory of Jerusalem, thou art the joy of our people.
Jour 8 : Eighth Day: Entrusting the Knot of Sickness
Méditation
Virgin Mother of God, abounding in mercy, have pity on thy child and undo this knot (mention it) in my life. I need thy visit to my life, as thou didst visit Elizabeth. Bring me Jesus, bring me the Holy Spirit. Teach me to practice the virtues of courage, joyfulness, humility, and faith, and, like Elizabeth, to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Make me joyfully rest on thy bosom, O Mary. I consecrate thee as my Mother, my Queen, and my friend. I give thee my heart and all that I have—my home, my family, my exterior and interior goods. I belong to thee forever. Put thy heart in me so that I can do everything that Jesus tells me to do. Amen.

Prière Conclusive
Concluding Prayer
To be said after the day’s meditation.
After the meditation, pray the last two decades of the Holy Rosary.
Prayer to Mary, Undoer of Knots
Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve thy beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exist in thy heart, cast thy compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exists in my life.
Thou knowest my despair, my pain, and how I am bound by these knots. Mary, Mother to whom God entrusted the undoing of the knots in the lives of His children, I entrust into thy hands the ribbon of my life.
No one, not even the evil one himself, can take it away from thy precious care. In thy hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. Powerful Mother, by thy grace and intercessory power with thy Son and My Liberator, Jesus, take into thy hands today this knot.
(Mention your request here)
I beg thee to undo it for the glory of God, once for all. Thou art my hope.
O my Lady, thou art the only consolation God gives me, the fortification of my feeble strength, the enrichment of my destitution, and, with Christ, the freedom from my chains.
Hear my plea.
Keep me, guide me, protect me, O safe refuge!
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. Amen.
