    Medjugorje - Illustration prière catholique

    Prière Introductive

    Introductory Prayers for Each Day

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Come, O Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
    V. Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created.
    R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

    Let us pray.
O God, Who by the light of the Holy Ghost, didst instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Ghost we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

O God, Thou hast prepared in the Immaculate Heart of Mary a worthy dwelling for Thy Son; grant, we beseech Thee, that we who celebrate this novena in her honor may be enabled to live in conformity with Thy will. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jour 1 : Day 1: The Call to Peace

    Méditation

Let us meditate upon the first and greatest message of Our Lady, Queen of Peace: the call to peace. Not the peace which the world giveth, but the peace which floweth from a heart reconciled with God. This divine peace begins within our own souls, through sincere prayer and abandonment to God’s holy will. It is the treasure for which we ought to sell all that we have. Our Lady cometh as a mother to calm the troubled hearts of her children, showing us the path to the Prince of Peace, her own beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Let us resolve this day to be instruments of this heavenly peace in our families and amongst all whom we meet.

    Prière du jour

O Mary, Queen of Peace, who in Medjugorje didst call thy children to be bearers of peace, we humbly ask for this precious gift. Quell the storms of anxiety and discord within our hearts, that we may first find peace with God. Grant that our homes may become sanctuaries of tranquility and love, and that our divided world may turn from the path of strife to the way of thy Son. Through thy powerful intercession, may the peace of Christ reign in every soul. Amen.

Jour 2 : Day 2: The Call to Faith

    Méditation

Today we reflect upon the call to a firm and living faith. Our Lady reminds us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith is the light that illumines our path in the darkness of this world, the anchor that holds our souls fast amidst the tempests of life. It is a gift from God, yet it must be nurtured through prayer, the reception of the Sacraments, and the study of holy doctrine. Let us examine our own faith. Is it a burning fire, or a flickering candle? Let us ask the Blessed Virgin, who believed without seeing, to obtain for us an increase in this most necessary virtue.

    Prière du jour

O Blessed Virgin, model of perfect faith, who didst accept the word of the Angel and conceive the Word of God in thy womb, we beseech thee, strengthen our feeble faith. In times of doubt and trial, be our guiding star. Help us to believe with our whole heart all that God hath revealed and that His Holy Church doth teach. May our faith be made manifest not only in our words, but in our works of charity, that we may one day see Him in whom we have believed. Amen.

Jour 3 : Day 3: The Call to Conversion

    Méditation

The message of conversion is at the very heart of the Gospel, and it is this same message that Our Mother repeats to us. Conversion is not a single event, but a daily turning away from sin and a turning towards God. It demandeth a sincere examination of conscience, a sorrow for our offenses, and a firm purpose of amendment. It is a journey from the darkness of self-love to the light of God’s love. Let us not be discouraged by our weaknesses, but with great confidence, let us cast ourselves upon the infinite mercy of God, which Our Lady continually points us towards.

    Prière du jour

O Mary, Refuge of Sinners, behold us at thy feet, poor sinners in need of conversion. Thy heart is a fountain of mercy, and thou dost desire nothing more than to lead us back to thy Son. Obtain for us the grace of a true and lasting contrition for our sins. Grant us the courage to change our lives, to renounce our evil habits, and to walk faithfully in the path of the commandments. Be our advocate, O loving Mother, and plead for our conversion before the throne of God. Amen.

Jour 4 : Day 4: The Call to Prayer

    Méditation

Our Lady insists, with the tenderness of a mother, upon the necessity of prayer, especially prayer from the heart. Prayer is the breath of the soul; it is the raising of our minds and hearts to God. It is in prayer that we find strength, light, and peace. She encourages us to pray the Holy Rosary daily, to meditate upon the mysteries of the life of her Son. Let us resolve to make prayer the center of our day, not as a burdensome duty, but as a loving conversation with our Heavenly Father, with Jesus our Saviour, and with the Holy Ghost our Sanctifier, through the hands of Mary.

    Prière du jour

O Virgin most prayerful, who didst keep all these things in thy heart, teach us how to pray. In our distractions and dryness, come to our aid. Instill in us a deep desire for communion with God. May the Holy Rosary be our constant companion, a chain of love binding us to thee and to thy Son. Teach us to pray with humility, confidence, and perseverance, that our lives may become a continuous prayer, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. Amen.

Jour 5 : Day 5: The Call to Fasting

    Méditation

The call to fasting is an ancient and powerful spiritual practice, oft forgotten in our age of comfort. Our Lord Himself fasted, and He taught that some demons can be cast out only by prayer and fasting. Our Lady asks us to fast, especially on bread and water, to obtain peace and to make reparation for sin. Fasting detaches us from worldly things, purifies the soul, strengthens the will, and makes our prayers more powerful. It is an act of love and sacrifice which, when united to the Passion of Christ, bears much fruit for the Church and for the world.

    Prière du jour

O Queen of Martyrs, whose soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow, grant us a spirit of penance and sacrifice. Help us to embrace the holy practice of fasting with a generous heart. May our small mortifications, offered in love, serve to repair the offenses committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and thine own Immaculate Heart. Strengthen us in our resolve, that by denying our bodies, we may nourish our souls and hasten the triumph of thy kingdom of peace. Amen.

Jour 6 : Day 6: Reading the Holy Scriptures

    Méditation

Our Lady exhorts us to place the Holy Bible in a visible place in our homes and to read it every day. The Sacred Scriptures are not a dead letter, but the living Word of God. In them, God speaks to us, revealing His love, His plan, and His will for our lives. To neglect the Scriptures is to neglect Christ Himself. Let us approach the Holy Bible with reverence and humility, praying to the Holy Ghost for understanding, that its sacred words may take root in our hearts and transform our lives.

    Prière du jour

O Mary, Seat of Wisdom, who didst perfectly ponder the Word of God in thy heart, open our minds and hearts to the Sacred Scriptures. Remove from us all sloth and indifference, and enkindle in us a burning love for God’s holy Word. May our daily reading of the Bible be a true encounter with thy Son, Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh. Grant that we may not only be hearers of the Word, but doers of it, building our lives upon the solid rock of divine truth. Amen.

Jour 7 : Day 7: Adoration of the Holy Eucharist

    Méditation

The Holy Eucharist is the center of our faith, the very source and summit of the Christian life. Our Lady continually directs us to her Son, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. She calls us to attend the Holy Mass with fervor and to adore Jesus in the tabernacle. In the Eucharist, we receive the Bread of Life, the medicine of immortality, the pledge of future glory. It is the greatest gift of God to mankind. Let us resolve to approach this august sacrament with greater faith, reverence, and love.

    Prière du jour

O Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, we thank thee for guiding us always to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Obtain for us a profound and living faith in the Real Presence. Inspire in us a great reverence for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and a deep hunger for Holy Communion. May we find in our visits to the Blessed Sacrament our strength in weakness, our comfort in sorrow, and our light in darkness. Through thy intercession, may our lives become a perpetual act of thanksgiving for this ineffable gift. Amen.

Jour 8 : Day 8: The Sacrament of Confession

    Méditation

Our Lady calls for monthly confession, that we may cleanse our souls and be reconciled with God. The Sacrament of Penance is a tribunal of mercy, not of judgment. It is here that the prodigal son returns to the Father’s embrace. In this sacrament, we receive not only the forgiveness of our sins but also the sanctifying grace to overcome future temptations. Let us cast aside all fear and shame, and with humble and contrite hearts, let us frequently avail ourselves of this great fountain of divine mercy.

    Prière du jour

O Mother of Mercy, we fly to thy protection. Thou seest our weakness and our frequent falls. Obtain for us the grace of a sincere and thorough confession. Help us to know our sins, to be truly sorry for them, and to confess them with humility. Intercede for us, that we may receive the grace of this sacrament worthily and that it may produce in us a firm purpose of amendment and a profound peace of soul. Be our guide on the path of repentance, which leads to the heart of thy merciful Son. Amen.

Jour 9 : Day 9: Consecration to the Immaculate Heart

    Méditation

On this final day, we meditate on Our Lady’s desire that we consecrate ourselves to her Immaculate Heart. To consecrate oneself to Mary is to give oneself entirely to her, that she may form us into perfect images of her Son, Jesus. It is to place our lives, our prayers, our works, and our sufferings in her hands, to be used for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. Her Immaculate Heart is the surest refuge, the safest path that leads to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In these perilous times, let us hasten to shelter ourselves under her maternal mantle.

    Prière du jour

O Queen of Peace, on this day we desire to consecrate ourselves, our families, and the whole world to thine Immaculate Heart. Accept, O Mother, this humble offering. We are all thine, and all that we have we offer to thee. Lead us, protect us, and guide us. Defend us from the snares of the enemy, and in the hour of our death, receive our souls and present them to thy Son. May thy Immaculate Heart triumph, and may the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus be established in every heart and in all nations. Amen.

    Prière Conclusive

    Concluding Prayers for Each Day

(To be recited after the day’s specific prayer)

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

O Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us and for the peace of the whole world!
