Jour 1 : Day 1: The Virtue of Faith
Méditation
Let us consider the boundless faith of the Magi, who, guided by a star, traveled from distant lands to adore the newborn King. They did not find Him in a palace, but in a humble stable, and yet their faith did not waver. They prostrated themselves and worshipped Him, offering gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The Infant Jesus rewards all who approach Him with a simple and trusting faith, a faith that sees the King of Heaven in the helplessness of a Child.
Prière du jour
O Divine Infant of Prague, Who didst reward the faith of the Magi with Thy presence, I beseech Thee to increase my faith. Grant me a faith that is strong and unwavering, that I may see Thy hand in all the circumstances of my life and trust completely in Thy divine providence. Hear my petition in this novena, and grant me the grace to believe in Thy power and goodness without reserve. Amen.
Jour 2 : Day 2: The Virtue of Hope
Méditation
Let us meditate upon the hope that the birth of the Infant Jesus brought to the world. In the darkness of a world awaiting its Redeemer, the Child of Bethlehem appeared as a radiant dawn. He is the hope of the patriarchs and prophets, the hope of the poor and the afflicted. In His tiny hands, He holds the promise of salvation and eternal life. To place our hope in Him is to build our house upon a rock that can never be shaken.
Prière du jour
O sweet Infant Jesus, our unfailing Hope, I come to Thee with a heart full of confidence. In times of darkness and trial, be Thou my light. Strengthen in me the virtue of hope, that I may never despair, but always look to Thee for help and deliverance. Graciously hear the intention I present to Thee in this novena, and fill my soul with the joyful expectation of Thy heavenly promises. Amen.
Jour 3 : Day 3: The Virtue of Charity
Méditation
Let us contemplate the infinite charity of the Son of God, Who for love of us, left the glory of Heaven to become a little Child. His heart, even in the cradle, burned with an immense love for every soul. This is the love that led Him to the stable, to Egypt, to Nazareth, and finally to the Cross. Every act of His infancy was an act of perfect love for His Father and for us, His children.
Prière du jour
O most lovable Infant Jesus, furnace of Divine Love, inflame my cold heart with a spark of Thy charity. Teach me to love God above all things and my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. Remove from my heart all selfishness and bitterness. For the sake of the love that brought Thee to earth, grant the special favor I ask of Thee in this novena, if it be pleasing to Thy will. Amen.
Jour 4 : Day 4: The Virtue of Humility
Méditation
Consider the profound humility of the King of Kings. He Who is Almighty made Himself small and weak. He Who clothes the heavens with clouds was wrapped in swaddling clothes. He Who sits upon a throne of glory chose to lie in a manger. The Infant Jesus teaches us that the path to true greatness is through humility. He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, to show us the way to His Kingdom.
Prière du jour
O humble Infant Jesus, Who didst choose poverty and lowliness over worldly honor, grant me the grace of true humility. Uproot from my heart the pride that separates me from Thee and from others. Teach me to be meek and humble of heart, that I may find rest for my soul. Humbly I implore Thee to look upon my petition in this novena and to grant it through the merits of Thy divine humility. Amen.
Jour 5 : Day 5: The Virtue of Obedience
Méditation
Let us reflect on the thirty years of the hidden life of Jesus, during which He was subject to Mary and Joseph. The Lord of the Universe obeyed a humble Virgin and a simple carpenter. In this perfect obedience, He glorified His Father and atoned for the disobedience of Adam. His submission teaches us that true freedom is found not in doing our own will, but in conforming our will to the will of God.
Prière du jour
O most obedient Infant Jesus, Who wert subject to Mary and Joseph, teach me the virtue of holy obedience. Grant me the grace to accept with love and submission the will of God in my life, as manifested through my duties and the authority He has placed over me. Through Thy perfect obedience, I pray Thee to grant the favor I seek in this novena. Amen.
Jour 6 : Day 6: The Virtue of Purity
Méditation
Let us adore the perfect purity of the Infant Jesus. He is the Lamb of God, without spot or blemish. His heart, His mind, and His soul are infinitely pure. In His presence, all darkness flees. He invites us to become like little children, with hearts that are simple, clean, and transparent before God. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God.
Prière du jour
O most pure Infant Jesus, spotless Lamb of God, I beg Thee to purify my heart. Wash me from my sins and create in me a clean heart, O God. Grant me a horror for sin and the grace to guard my senses, my thoughts, and my affections. For the sake of Thy immaculate purity, deign to hear my prayer and grant the intention of this novena. Amen.
Jour 7 : Day 7: The Virtue of Poverty of Spirit
Méditation
Let us consider the poverty which the Infant Jesus chose for Himself. Born in a stable because there was no room for Him in the inn, His first bed was a manger filled with straw. He embraced poverty to teach us detachment from the goods of this world. He shows us that true wealth consists not in what we possess, but in possessing God Himself.
Prière du jour
O Divine Infant, Who didst choose to be born in utter poverty, free my heart from the love of riches and worldly possessions. Grant me a spirit of detachment, that I may use the goods of this earth for Thy glory and the good of my neighbor, without setting my heart upon them. In Thy poverty Thou art rich in mercy; hear my poor prayer and grant the grace I ask of Thee. Amen.
Jour 8 : Day 8: The Virtue of Patience
Méditation
Let us meditate upon the patience of the Infant Jesus. He patiently endured the cold of the stable, the persecution of Herod, the hardships of the flight into Egypt, and the long, quiet years at Nazareth. He bore all things silently and without complaint. His patience is a model for us in all our trials and sufferings. He teaches us to bear our crosses with love and resignation to the will of the Father.
Prière du jour
O most patient Infant Jesus, model of longsuffering, grant me the virtue of patience. In my sicknesses, my sorrows, and my daily trials, help me to remain serene and united to Thee. Let me not murmur or complain, but accept all things from Thy hand with a patient and loving heart. Through the merits of Thy divine patience, I implore Thee to grant my petition. Amen.
Jour 9 : Day 9: The Grace of Perseverance
Méditation
As we conclude our novena, let us consider the perseverance of the Infant King. From the moment of His Incarnation to His death on the Cross, He persevered in fulfilling the mission His Father had given Him. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He promises the crown of life to those who persevere in faith, hope, and charity until the end. Let us resolve to remain faithful to Him all the days of our lives.
Prière du jour
O glorious Infant Jesus, Who didst persevere unto death for my salvation, I thank Thee for all the graces received during this novena. Grant me the final grace of perseverance in Thy love and service. May I never be separated from Thee. Protect me, guide me, and bring me safely to Thy heavenly Kingdom. I place my urgent need once more before Thee, confident that Thou wilt answer in the way that is best for my soul. Amen.
Prière Conclusive
Concluding Prayer
O Miraculous Infant Jesus, we prostrate ourselves before Thy sacred image, and beseech Thee to cast a merciful look on our troubled hearts. Let Thy tender Heart, so inclined to pity, be softened at our prayers, and grant us the grace for which we ardently implore Thee. Take from us all affliction and despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are laden. For Thy sacred Infancy’s sake, hear our prayers and send us consolation and aid, that we may praise Thee with the Father and the Holy Ghost, forever and ever. Amen.
Recite one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be.
