    Prière Introductive

    Introductory Prayer

    (To be said each day)

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I adore Thy Divine Majesty and I thank Thee for all the graces Thou hast bestowed upon me. I come before Thee in my poverty, acknowledging my need for Thy divine assistance.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who came to set the captives free, I place myself at the foot of Thy Cross and implore Thy mercy. Cover me with Thy Most Precious Blood. I ask for the grace, through this novena, to be delivered from every evil, every spiritual bondage, and every influence of the enemy that afflicts my soul, mind, and body. I make this prayer through the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, of Saint Michael the Archangel, and of all the saints and angels of heaven. Amen.

Jour 1 : Day 1: Humility and Acknowledging our Bondage

    Méditation

In the beginning of our quest for spiritual liberty, we must first come before the Lord with a humble and contrite heart. Like the publican in the temple, we dare not lift our eyes to heaven, but beat our breast, saying, “God, be merciful to me a sinner.” We must acknowledge the chains that bind us, whether they be of our own making through sin, or imposed upon us by the malice of the enemy. Without this sincere recognition of our own poverty and utter dependence upon God’s mercy, we cannot receive the grace of deliverance. Let us, therefore, examine our conscience, confess our faults, and admit our powerlessness, that the mighty hand of God may be moved to set us free.

    Prière du jour

O Lord Jesus Christ, Redeemer of mankind, I come before Thee as a poor and needy sinner. I confess that I am bound by the chains of my sins, my passions, and my weaknesses. I acknowledge my pride, which has so often led me to rely on my own strength. Look upon me with pity, O merciful Saviour. Grant me the grace of true humility and a profound sorrow for my offenses, that I may be made worthy to receive the gift of Thy liberating peace. Amen.

Jour 2 : Day 2: The Power of the Most Holy Name of Jesus

    Méditation

The Apostle tells us that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. The Most Holy Name of Jesus is not a mere word, but the very presence and power of God made manifest. The demons tremble at this Name, for it is the Name of Him who conquered sin and death. In every trial, in every temptation, in every moment of darkness and fear, the invocation of the Holy Name is our shield and our stronghold. To speak it with faith and reverence is to call upon all the power of Heaven to our aid. Let us resolve to hold this sacred Name in our hearts and upon our lips as our most potent weapon against the forces of evil.

    Prière du jour

O Jesus, whose Name is above every other name, I place all my trust in Thee. By the power of Thy Holy Name, I ask to be delivered from every evil that afflicts my soul and body. Let Thy Name be a fortress for me, a refuge in distress, and a source of victory. In every temptation, may I have the strength to call upon Thee, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! By the glorious power of Thy Name, break the snares of the enemy and grant me peace. Amen.

Jour 3 : Day 3: The Cleansing Power of the Precious Blood

    Méditation

“For you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as gold or silver… but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb unspotted and undefiled.” The Blood of Christ, shed upon the Cross, is the price of our redemption. It is the fountain of mercy that washes away the sins of the world. This Precious Blood has the power to cleanse our souls, heal our wounds, protect us from all harm, and break every curse and bond of iniquity. When we plead the Blood of Jesus over ourselves, our families, and our homes, we place them under the seal of the New and Everlasting Covenant, a seal which the enemy cannot cross. Let us approach this mystery with awe and gratitude, for by His stripes we are healed.

    Prière du jour

O Father Almighty, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. By His Precious Blood, I beseech Thee to wash me clean of all my sins, to protect me from the assaults of the devil, and to deliver me from all that holds me captive. May the Blood of Christ be my salvation and my protection, now and at the hour of my death. Amen.

Jour 4 : Day 4: The Renunciation of Evil

    Méditation

Our baptismal vows include a solemn renunciation of Satan and all his works and all his empty promises. This is not a vow made once and then forgotten, but a stance we must actively take each day. To be delivered from evil, we must first choose to reject it. We must turn our backs on sin, on occasions of sin, and on all that draws us away from God. This act of the will, fortified by grace, is essential. We must declare our allegiance to Christ the King and firmly renounce the prince of this world. Let us today renew our baptismal promises, consciously and deliberately choosing God and rejecting all that is opposed to Him.

    Prière du jour

In the Name of Jesus Christ, I renounce Satan. I renounce all his works, which are sin and error. I renounce all his empty promises, which are vanity and deceit. I renounce every spirit of darkness, every occult tie, and every influence of evil in my life. I bind them at the foot of the Cross to be disposed of by our Lord. I profess my faith in God the Father, in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord, and in the Holy Ghost. I choose to live as a child of God and to follow Christ as my only Master and Saviour. Amen.

Jour 5 : Day 5: The Intercession of Mary, Terror of Demons

    Méditation

From the moment of the first promise of a Redeemer in the Book of Genesis, the Blessed Virgin Mary was foretold as the woman who would crush the serpent’s head. As the new Eve, her perfect obedience undid the disobedience of the first. The demons fear her humility, her purity, and her perfect union with the will of God. She is the “Terror of Demons,” the Commander of the heavenly armies. To entrust ourselves to her Immaculate Heart is to place ourselves in the safest of refuges. She, who is full of grace, will never fail to come to the aid of her children who call upon her in their struggle against the powers of darkness.

    Prière du jour

O August Queen of Heaven and Mistress of the Angels, thou who from the beginning hast received from God the power and the mission to crush the head of Satan, we humbly beseech thee to send thy holy legions, that under thy command and by thy power, they may pursue the demons, combat them everywhere, repress their insolence, and hurl them back into the abyss. O good and tender Mother, thou wilt ever be our love and our hope. O Mother of God, send thy holy Angels to defend me and to drive far from me the cruel enemy. Amen.

Jour 6 : Day 6: The Help of the Holy Angels

    Méditation

“He hath given his angels charge over thee; to keep thee in all thy ways.” We are not alone in our spiritual combat. God, in His providence, has assigned to each of us a Guardian Angel, a powerful and faithful friend to enlighten, guard, rule, and guide us. Furthermore, the entire host of heaven, under the command of the glorious Archangel Michael, is engaged in the great battle against the dragon and his minions. Saint Michael, whose name means “Who is like God?”, is the great defender of the Church and of all the faithful. Let us not neglect to call upon these powerful allies whom God has given us for our protection and deliverance.

    Prière du jour

O glorious Prince of the heavenly hosts, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom God created in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. And thou, O Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Jour 7 : Day 7: The Strength of the Sacraments

    Méditation

Our Lord did not leave us orphans, but established His Church and gave us the Sacraments as channels of His grace. The Sacrament of Penance, or Confession, is a tribunal of mercy where our sins are forgiven and our souls are strengthened. It is a powerful exorcism in itself, restoring sanctifying grace and weakening the devil’s hold. The Holy Eucharist is the very Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord. Receiving Him worthily fills us with divine life, repels the enemy, and unites us most intimately with our Victorious King. A life of frequent and devout reception of these Sacraments is the surest way to live in a state of continual deliverance and freedom.

    Prière du jour

O Lord Jesus Christ, who hast given us the Sacraments as medicine for our souls, I thank Thee for the inestimable gifts of Confession and the Holy Eucharist. Grant me the grace to approach them often and with a pure heart. May Thy forgiveness in Confession break every chain of sin, and may Thy presence in the Holy Communion fill me with Thy divine life and make me an impregnable fortress against all evil. I desire to receive Thee, O Lord, that I may live in Thee and Thou in me. Amen.

Jour 8 : Day 8: Forgiveness as a Path to Freedom

    Méditation

Our Lord taught us to pray, “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.” A heart that harbors resentment, bitterness, or a desire for revenge is a heart that is not free. Unforgiveness gives the enemy a foothold in our souls, creating a spiritual wound that festers and binds us in chains of anger and sorrow. To be truly liberated, we must extend to others the same mercy that God so lavishly extends to us. This can be a most difficult task, impossible by our own strength. But with God’s grace, we can choose to forgive, releasing both ourselves and the one who has wronged us into the hands of God’s perfect justice and mercy.

    Prière du jour

O merciful Father, who hast forgiven me my countless offenses through the merits of Thy Son, grant me the grace to forgive all who have ever harmed or offended me. I release them from any debt they owe me. I remove from my heart all bitterness, anger, and resentment. Heal my memories and fill me with Thy charity. Where there has been injury, let me bring pardon. I pray for their blessing and salvation, and I ask Thee, Lord, to break any chain of unforgiveness that binds my soul, setting me free to love as Thou lovest. Amen.

    Jour 9 : Day 9: Perseverance in God’s Freedom

    Méditation

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Deliverance is not a single event, but the beginning of a new life lived in the freedom of the children of God. This freedom is maintained by perseverance in prayer, vigilance against temptation, and a life of virtue nourished by the Sacraments. We must put on the armor of God: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. With thanksgiving for the liberation He has wrought in us, let us resolve to walk henceforth in the light of Christ, confident in His final victory and the promise of eternal life with Him in heaven.

    Prière du jour

O Lord Jesus, I thank Thee for the grace of this novena and for the deliverance Thou hast worked in my soul. I consecrate myself anew to Thee. I desire to live no longer for myself, but for Thee who died and rose for me. Clothe me with Thy light and Thy strength. Help me to persevere in faith, to grow in hope, and to abound in charity. May I live always in the glorious freedom of a child of God, until I come to see Thee face to face in Thy eternal Kingdom, where all tears are wiped away and all chains are broken forever. Amen.

    Prière Conclusive

    Concluding Prayers

    (To be said each day)

We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
