Day 1: The Promise of the Scapular
Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, You who promised Saint Simon Stock that whoever dies clothed in the Scapular would be preserved from eternal fire, we beseech You to grant us the grace to live and die faithfully in Your love and under Your protection. We thank You for this tangible sign of Your maternal solicitude. O Mary, Mother of Mercy, protect us from the dangers of soul and body. Help us to wear our Scapular with devotion and to live according to the teachings of Your divine Son, Jesus Christ. May Your example of faith and humility guide us on the path of holiness. We offer You our prayers and sacrifices in reparation for our sins and those of the whole world.
Day 2: Refuge in Trial
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, You are our refuge in times of trial and difficulty. Turn Your merciful gaze towards us who are overwhelmed by worries and anxieties. Intercede with Your Son so that we may find the strength to overcome obstacles and persevere in faith. We entrust You with our fears and anxieties, knowing that You understand our sufferings. O Mary, Mother of Consolation, comfort our broken hearts and bring us peace. Help us to trust in Divine Providence and to accept the will of God in all the circumstances of our lives.
Day 3: The Scapular, a Sign of Covenant
Virgin of Carmel, the Scapular that You have given us is a sign of covenant between You and us. It testifies to Your commitment to protect us and to our commitment to love and serve You. May this sacred sign constantly remind us of our consecration to You. O Mary, Queen of Heaven, renew in us the grace of our baptism and strengthen our resolution to follow Jesus Christ more closely. Help us to witness to our faith by our words and our actions and to be instruments of Your love in the world.
Day 4: Protection Against Evil
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, protect us against the wiles of the evil one and against all the temptations that lead us away from God. Clothe us with Your spiritual armor so that we can resist the attacks of the enemy. O Mary, Mighty Virgin, dispel the darkness that obscures our minds and enlighten us with the light of Your wisdom. Help us to discern good from evil and to always choose what pleases God. We entrust You with our families and loved ones, so that they may be protected from all spiritual and temporal danger.
Day 5: Fidelity to Prayer
Virgin Mary, teach us to be faithful to prayer, a source of grace and spiritual strength. Help us to find the time and silence necessary to collect ourselves and converse with God. O Mary, Mother of Prayer, teach us to pray with fervor and perseverance. May our prayers rise to Heaven like a pleasing fragrance to God. We ask You to obtain for us the grace of conversion of heart and holiness of life.
Day 6: Apostolic Zeal
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, enkindle our hearts with an apostolic zeal so that we may proclaim the Gospel to all those we meet. Give us the courage to witness to our faith on every occasion and to share the joy of knowing Jesus Christ. O Mary, Queen of Apostles, make us instruments of the new evangelization. We ask You to guide and inspire us in our efforts to build a more just and fraternal world.
Day 7: Hope in Suffering
Virgin Mary, give us hope in suffering and teach us to accept the cross with patience and resignation. May our suffering be united to that of Your Son Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world. O Mary, Mother of Sorrow, comfort us in our trials and help us to find meaning in our sufferings. We ask You to obtain for us the grace of final perseverance and eternal joy in Heaven.
Day 8: Forgiveness of Sins
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, obtain for us the forgiveness of our sins and the grace of repentance. Help us to turn away from evil and turn to God with a contrite heart. O Mary, Refuge of Sinners, intercede for us with Your Son so that He may grant us His mercy and forgiveness. We ask You to strengthen us in our struggle against sin and to help us live a holy and pleasing life to God.
Day 9: The Grace of a Holy Death
Virgin Mary, Mother of Mount Carmel, grant us the grace of a holy death, so that we may, after leaving this earth, be welcomed into the eternal joy of Heaven. O Mary, Help of Christians, be present at our last breath and lead us to Your Son, Jesus Christ. We entrust You with our souls and those of all the departed, so that they may rest in peace in the light of divine glory. Amen.
